Cotswold Deck Builder

Cotswold is one of Charlotte's classic 1950s and '60s neighborhoods — brick ranches and split-levels on generous lots, shaded by willow oaks that were planted when the houses were built. Those flat, tree-covered backyards call for a different kind of deck than a new-construction suburb: usually a low, grade-level platform or a deck-and-patio combination that flows straight out from the back door instead of towering over the yard.

The mix of original ranches and full renovations means no two Cotswold projects start from the same place. On older homes we're often working around crawl-space vents, mature root systems, and existing patios, which changes how we set footings and frame the structure. Deep shade is the other local factor — we steer most Cotswold homeowners toward composite decking that shrugs off mildew, and we design in outdoor lighting because the canopy makes evenings dark early.
